WORK VISA
VISA SUBJECT TO CONTRACT
The Residence Visa Subject to Contract is the permit granted to foreign citizens who have been hired to work in Chile. This kind of visa expires along with the work contract, so if the resident doesn’t work any longer for this employer, he/she will have to apply for a new visa.
With the exception of Haitians and Venezuelans, foreigners who are in Chile with a tourist visa and who sign a work contract with a Chilean employer while it is in force may also apply for a visa subject to contract.
This type of visa is also extended to the children and/or spouse of the foreigner with a valid work contract, although they are not authorized to carry out remunerated activities in Chile.
